Welcome on our site! We’d like to take you with us into the world of carbon dioxide emissions and how to decrease or even prevent them. Our means of transportation, to begin with. On this site you can calculate how much CO2-emission your transport system is creating ànd how to prevent or compensate for it.
Better to be safe than sorry, especially in our battle against climate change. It would be perfect if our transportation systems wouldn’t cause no emissions at all. By all means, that is not possible.
Maybe you’d like to try to compensate for your own emissions? Environmental organizations and NGOs started a project fund, called CompenCO2. The main idea is:
compensating your CO2 emission with a contribution towards projects that are set up in order to tackle CO2 emissions.
Anyone travelling by plane, touring coach or car can deposit an ‘enviromental contribution’. CompenCO2 will use that money to support projects that
- mitigate CO2 emissions,
- defend man and nature against the consequences of climate change.
Projects from Africa have our preference. Africa suffers a lot under the consequences of climate change. The continent misses out a lot of compensations agreed upon in global conferences.
At the end of June, we started this initiative. If you want to be informed about CompenCO2, its actions and projects, register at our newsletter.
